Increase Website Traffic with Keyword Articles

by Michelle Strait

You may be hurting your business website if you’re not using keyword articles. Keyword articles provide a way to fill your pages with relevant keywords without resorting to keyword stuffing. Most online business owners understand the importance of keywords, and how they influence a website’s ranking.

Why keywords?

When a person uses Google, or any search engine, to find information, they use keyword phrases to perform the search. Your job as a webmaster or online business owner is to learn which keyword phrases are most relevant to your site. You then incorporate them into the copy on your page.

The easiest way to accomplish this, while also providing relevant information, is to use keyword articles. As an aside, let me say keyword articles can work for any site.

"I don’t need articles", you might say. "After all, I’m selling perfume and jewelry. Good sales copy is all I need".

But you could get more traffic by including small articles along with your great sales copy.

How to create keyword articles

Keyword articles average between 250 – 800 words, and are written with specific keyword phrases in mind. To get maximum exposure, you can optimize each page of your website for a specific term.

Keyword articles don’t have to be prize-winning material (although it would be nice). And you don’t have to write like Toni Morrison or Stephen King to put one together. But keyword articles should make sense, be enjoyable to read, provide relevant information, and have good spelling and grammar.

You can’t simply repeat one word over and over, and expect search engines to fall for it. This is known as keyword spamming, and can get your site dropped from the search engines. Each keyword phrase must appear naturally within a paragraph or heading. It’s also wise to use phrases that make sense.

If you can’t write the articles yourself, hire a writer to do them for you.

If you choose to use a freelance bidding site, make sure to view writing samples before hiring anyone. A writer can have lots of positive feedback, and still be a lousy writer. Let the writing samples speak for themselves.

Why not give keyword articles a try? The only thing you have to gain is more traffic and more sales. Happy keyword hunting!
